Advokatfirmaet Haavind has signed Christopher Sveen and Bård Sandstad as new partners. – We are very pleased to present our new and highly skilled partners, each of whom complements an already strong offshore team. We aim to have the strongest legal team in Norway for the offshore industry, states Chairman of the Board Pål Kvernaas.

Haavind has historically held a strong position in the offshore industry, in particular amongst oil service and offshore contractors. With Sveen and Sandstad from Kyllingstad Kleveland arriving in January 2017, we will cover all areas of required legal services for the industry.

Despite the challenges faced by the offshore industry, we are experiencing significant growth, both with respect to assignments and new customers. With increased focus on margins, our customers express an even greater need for qualified, strategic advice, both during projects and in disputes, Kvernaas continues.

Christopher Sveen is one of Norway’s most experienced lawyers within the offshore- and oil & gas industry, having been Chief Legal Officer in Aker Solutions, and also having worked at Kværner and in BA-HR. He also has a history as a leading advisor to contractors within the offshore industry. As partner in Haavind, Christopher will continue his work as strategic advisor in matters of contract, dispute resolution and complex projects.

Bård Sandstad is a M&A lawyer specialised in transactions for the offshore- and oil & gas industry. He is deservedly recognized as an important advisor and contributor to a number of key transactions in the field of offshore and oil&gas. He has a long history advising within this industry, also from his period in BA-HR. Bård will continue as a legal advisor in M&A projects, concentrating on the offshore and oil & gas industry, working closely with the expanding corporate-team at Haavind.
