Silje Helene Bakkevig Dagsland specializes in contracts and construction law, with a strong focus on dispute resolution. She has extensive experience in both national and international litigation and arbitration, as well as advising clients with project development and in complex contract matters.

Silje primarily assists on large construction and infrastructure contracts within the energy sector, both oil and gas and renewables, onshore and offshore. She is highly experienced in drafting and negotiating contracts and supporting project organizations throughout the execution phase, particularly within the energy, process industry, and defence sectors.

Siljes dispute resolution practice encompasses matters related to on- and offshore wind, project insurances (Construction All Risk), offshore construction, infrastructure, aquaculture, defence contracts, and post-M&A disputes.

Having previously undertaken a secondment as in-house counsel to a major oil service provider, Silje possesses a comprehensive understanding of the offshore industry. In addition to her sector-specific knowledge, she has gained valuable experience in project management and advising on offshore contracts.

Over the last years, Silje’s experience has been particularly focused towards energy transition projects and comprised advising with contract drafting and contractual matters for both offshore and onshore wind projects,  Carbon Capture and Storage and Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage projects, including negotiating offtake agreements and CCUS facility arrangements, Waste to Energy projects and shipbuilding projects, as well as acting as counsel and advising on several disputes related to such projects.

Silje is recognised as an “Up and Coming” practitioner in Chambers Construction (2025), where her particular skills in dispute resolution for energy projects and offshore construction are highlighted. She is also ranked as a future leader in Lexology in the category Arbitration (2026) and mentioned as a recommended lawyer in Legal 500 Energy: Electricity and Oil and Gas (2025).
