Håkon Austdal is specialised in intellectual property rights and regulatory affairs related to medicinal products, biotechnology, medical devices and food. In addition to being a lawyer, Håkon also holds a bachelor`s degree in pharmacy.
Håkon has extensive experience with dispute resolution concerning intellectual property rights, in particular patent litigation for the pharmaceutical and aquaculture industries, as well as disputes concerning trade secrets, trademarks and product imitation. Furthermore, Håkon assists with advice and contracts concerning client management of intellectual property rights, including inter alia questions concerning ownership and transfer of rights from employees, research and development contracts and license agreements.
He also assists several businesses within the healthcare industry with regulatory matters and healthcare legislation, including authorisations, government contacts, complaints on administrative decisions, product classification, advertising and marketing and questions regarding pricing and reimbursement. Håkon also has extensive experience with various agreements related to the healthcare industry, including manufacturing agreements, distribution agreements and clinical trial agreements.
Håkon also has significant experience within food law and assists food enterprises with inter alia complaints on administrative decisions, government contact, review and approval of product labelling, use of nutritional and health claims, legislation concerning food hygiene and safety and questions regarding animal byproducts.
Håkon is ranked as a Rising Star in the category Intellectual Property in Legal 500 as well as recognised as a Rising Star in IP Stars. He is also the author of the legal commentary of the Norwegian Pharmacy Act published by Universitetsforlaget.
