
Erik Fossnes is affiliated with the energy law department and mainly works with legal issues related to renewable energy and contract law. He primarily assists with matters concerning power development and production, grid operations, power trading, and transactions in the energy sector.
Erik has experience in contract drafting and project execution advisory, both within renewable energy, onshore construction, and the offshore industry. He also works with dispute resolution and litigation, and has assisted in handling major cases before both arbitration panels and ordinary courts related to supply and construction contracts.
Erik specializes in contract law and energy law, including comparative international contract studies and energy law at Pennsylvania State University. In 2022, he wrote his master’s thesis on the right to negative change and termination in the NF family of contracts, with particular focus on scope, differences in time and remuneration, and the relationship between contract mechanisms.
