Jørgen Blix Nicolaysen is part of Haavind’s top-ranked fisheries and aquaculture team.
He assists the seafood industry with both administrative and commercial legal matters, particularly focusing on regulatory issues, contracts, and dispute resolution.
Jørgen’s strong industry knowledge is based on his previous experience at the Directorate of Fisheries, which has given him a practical understanding of the regulatory frameworks and processes unique to the industry. He holds a master’s degree in the law of the sea from the Norwegian Centre for the Law of the Sea and has specialized in marine resources law.
In 2023 and 2024, Jørgen was ranked as the best “Up and Coming” lawyer in fisheries and aquaculture law in Finansavisen’s annual lawyer survey. He has also been highlighted as a key lawyer in the Legal 500 rankings.
