Team Haavind has had key roles in both wind farm deals closed this summer.
- BlackRock was assisted by Haavind in the purchase of 100% of Tellenes wind farm, which is to be constructed in Rogaland county in Norway, with all related contracts, EPC and turbines included. When the wind farm starts production towards the end of 2017, it will be the largest operating wind farm in Norway. Haavind has been the key Norwegian counsel, and has acted in concert with Orrick, who had general lead and master of all non-Norwegian law issues
- Stadtwerke München used Haavind as its sole Norwegian counsel in the purchase of 60% of Austri Raskiftet wind farm, which is to be constructed in Hedmark county in Norway, with all related contracts, such as shareholder agreements, EPC and turbines.
Haavind possesses all the variety of expertise needed to pull off these complex projects; from M&A, negotiations and project management to sector knowledge and in depth legal expertise on energy, land rights, concessions and regulatory, tax, bank/finance, and EPC contracts. We additionally have the benefit of having completed similar and other large projects before. Team Haavind has been led by Jøran Sandvik and Kjetil Hardeng for both deals.
